Federal Court ruling in favour of Yellowstone Bison
I spent a few hours in Waterstones in Northallerton on Saturday, probably the closest major book retailer to home, and had a wonderful day doing a book signing. It is not always the case that store managers are effusive about having you in store, particularly as a début novelist, but Michael and his team were the consummate hosts - so refreshing to be so warmly welcomed.
As ever, we met some fascinating people, but the surprise of the day came when a lady, Libby, walked in holding a copy of Native. She had brought the book on-line because she had seen it advertised on the ONE Spirit Facebook page. Finding a supporter of ONE Spirit in the UK was not what I had expected, let alone one who lives in Richmond - just 12 miles from home!. Libby had already finished reading Native and had the dark rings around her eyes to testify (in her words) to the fact that she had not been able to put it down.
It's great to know that the social media stuff is actually doing some marketing for us. I am far from competent at using it, and often wonder whether it is wasted time, but Libby proves otherwise. Thanks to both!
